Welcome to the Lawrence North Jazz Band Program!

Whether you are in Jazz 1 or Jazz 2, this program is here for those interested in pursuing the extra-musical responsibilities of performing with a Jazz Ensemble. All students in a Jazz Ensemble class must also be registered for a concert band class as well. Throughout the year both jazz groups will performing primarily on Jazz & Percussion nights as well as community performances throughout the year. Both Jazz Ensembles may compete at ISSMA in 2022-2023.

Both ensembles will have required listening assignments every four to six weeks. Each of these assignments will include listing all performers on the album and 1-3 questions pertaining to the music itself. 

- September 2nd: Listening assignment #1 is due.
- October 14th: Listening assignment #2 is due.
- November 18th: Listening assignment #3 is due.
- December 19th: Listening assignment #4 is due.
- February 3rd: Listening assignment #5 is due.
- March 17th: Listening assignment #6 is due.
